How Do I Prepare For My Hair and Makeup Appointment?

So, you’ve just booked an appointment with The M.O.B.B. Group. Maybe you’ve never had your hair and makeup done by a professional and you don’t know what to expect. Whether you are getting your hair and makeup done for your graduation, a first interview, a big event, wedding, or you need a SPX/theatrical look- we got you covered. Rest assured that our team will make sure you feel prepared, relaxed, AND excited about your appointment.

Here are all the things you need to know:

1. Have Your Hair Down, Dry & Clean

If you are getting your hair styled, make sure your hair is down, dry and clean. Do not have your hair in a bun or ponytail. These styles leave hard to remove dents and bends in the hair.
The M.O.B.B. Group offers a variety of add on services to allow you to have the full package. If you would like to add a blow dry or any other add ons to your service  make sure to let your Artist know beforehand, so they can properly prepare for your appointment.

Otherwise, remember DDC! Dry, down, and clean ladies!

2. Have a Fresh Moisturized Face

Prepping the skin for a flawless makeup application is one of the most important steps for a beautiful base. However, there is no need to apply any oils or serums before your Mobile Makeup Appointment.

Oils and serums have a consistency that doesn’t allow foundation to lay on the skin properly. In short, oils will not only affect the way that your foundation will look, but it also might cause your foundation to separate.

If you choose to do your skin care routine before your appointment, make sure you apply all of your products with enough time for them to sink into your skin.

Remember, everything is fixable. If you accidentally put an oil or serum on your skin before your Mobile Hair & Makeup Appointment, your Pro Makeup Artist will be able to remove it before the application begins. The Artists are knowledgeable in skin prep that will give you your desired finish.

3. You Do Not Need to Bring Any Products

You do not need to bring anything to your appointment except for yourself! Our team of Top Hair and Makeup Artists will have everything you need to create your desired look. Some might even have things like scissors, bandaids, bobbi pins, body lotion and deodorant wipes. Your Artist will always have you covered.

If there is a product that you cannot live without, you are more than welcome to bring it!

All of the Artists have built their makeup kits from scratch, so they will have every primer, foundation shade, lipstick color, and eyeshadow that you can think of. Seriously, if you are a makeup lover- it is like a kid in a candy store!

There is no makeup look that The M.O.B.B. Group cannot achieve.

 4. If You Wear Contacts, Have Them In Before Your Appointment

Our Las Vegas Hair & Makeup Artists want you to be in and out of the chair in a timely manner looking and feeling your best. Help your Artist out by having your contacts in before the start of your appointment.

Sometimes putting in contacts can be a little messy if your eyes water. We would hate for you to  accidentally mess up your makeup as you are putting them in.

5. Wear Something That Allows Your Artist to See Identify Your Skin Color

Have you ever gotten your skin tone matched to a foundation at a makeup store? It is the same idea.

Wearing something that allows the Makeup Artist to see your chest and arms will make for the most accurate color match.

6.  If You Will Be Changing, Wear Something Easy To Take Off

You can wear anything you want to your makeup and hair appointment. We don’t even care if you are wearing pajamas, but make sure you are able to easily take it off if you will be changing.

Keep this in mind when getting dressed for the day before your appointment. Wearing something that is easy to take off insures that your Hair and Makeup will not get messed up after your artist leaves.

We would recommend wearing something that's loose, has a zipper, or a button up.

7. Have Inspiration Photos Ready to Show Your Makeup Artist/ Hair Stylist

It is always helpful to have inspiration photos to show your artist. The M.O.B.B. always wants to make sure that you and your Artist are on the same page. This will make sure that you are getting a similar look that you will love.

Describing terms like “natural makeup” or “dramatic” might be a little confusing as everyone has a different opinion on what those things may mean. The more specific your inspiration photos are the better. We would recommend looking on Pinterest or Google for things that you might like to have a better idea.
